In the quiet of the evening when the sun has gone to rest,
It's so peaceful on my mountain
its the time that I love best.
Somewhere ov'r yonder ridge I hear a whippoorwill.
as the wind sifts gently through the trees
now all is quiet
all is still.
Oh! The vastness of this universe
and the wonder of it all
never ceases to amaze me
and makes me feel quite small.
The Master in His wondrous ways knows every star in the sky,
Yet still,
He takes the time to touch the life of someone
as small as I
my alaska
I'll see you again my friend
if pretty little bluebirds fly
above the rainbow
why, oh why can't I?
